Increased tourist tax town of Venice
VENICE - The prefectural commissioner of Venice has decided to increase the tax stay for the
3 and 4 stars hotels, and day passes for ACTV buses and boats, so estimating the recovery of about 2 million.
In detail, the city tax from
1 October 2014 will increase from
3 to 3.50 euro (per person, per night) for the 3 stars hotels, and from 4 to 4.50 euro for a 4 stars hotels.
Another change concerns the tourist apartments that do not offer services (such as change of sheets or towels) were previously exempt from the tax, but will have to pay them too.
As for
ACTV, the subscription to 72 hours from 35 to 40 euro while that for 7 days will be extended to 60 euro from the current 50 also increases the paper "Venice Unica" which, for those not resident in Veneto, increased from 40 to 50 euro.
